Adoption Information
All dogs are up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before adoption. Guardianship Application, home visit and reference checks are required. Minimum adoption fee is $150.

Sophia's nickname is Snowphia as she loves loves loves playing in the snow! She came from a very neglectful situation and is quickly learning house manners and how to play and just plain be a dog. She is a a pit/hound mix, about 45 lbs, about 2 yrs old, and has super unique markings and coloring. She's stunning! She has a high energy level at times and we are working on commands to help settle her and teach her better manners. Once she settles, she is very sweet and loves to cuddle up next to you with her head on your arm looking up at your adoringly, or if chilly, she will burrow under the comforter and "disappear". She is a very gentle girl who takes treats nicely and loves to give tender kisses :) She also has a very soft mouth as well as knows how to shake and sit. She would be best as an only dog or possibly with a submissive male of her own size or larger. Due to her energy level, she is best in a home without small children and she would do best in a home with a fenced in yard to burn off energy. Since she was so undersocialized before her arrival, we're working on building up her confidence and trust in humans, especially when it comes to things like getting her claws clipped, going to the vet, having a winter coat put on her, etc, and she has been making improvements every day.
