All dogs are up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before adoption. Guardianship Application, home visit and reference checks are required. Minimum adoption fee is $150.

Are you ready to meet the most adorable pup to walk the planet? Here you go…every other minute Desi does something that is more adorable than the last. She is about a year old and 40lbs. Desi has a beautiful chocolate coat and sparkling gold eyes that will instantly steal your heart. She has an extremely sweet disposition and is a huge cuddle bug. Desi LOVES to go for car rides and is perfect in the car. She sits calmly in the back and will even quietly wait while you run inside to do quick errands. She just went on a 12 hour road trip with her foster parents and was a perfect passenger.

Originally, Desi’s foster parents had hoped to keep her but their living situation has proven to not be the best place for Desi. They currently live in a busy area in Park Ridge and Desi is a little stressed with all the commotion. She would do best in a rural, quiet area. She is a little fearful in new or busy areas and does best at home with her people. She LOVES toys of any kind including playing tug. Her favorite, and what she is best at, is playing fetch with a ball and a frisbee. She almost always has a toy in her mouth prancing around the house with her butt wiggling. She tosses her bones in the air and pounces around them like a cat; it is one of the cutest things you will ever see. For this reason, she would do best with a fenced yard where she could feel safe or a big area to run and get out some of her puppy energy. She is not protective over her toys, food, or treats of any kind and is just happy if you are near her at any time. She is housebroken and crate trained. She does not make so much as a peep in her crate when you leave her and goes in willingly.

Desi is a sensitive girl who needs a leader that will teach her with patience and love. She is definitely not a girl that you can be rough with and has done great with the positive training that her foster parents have been doing. She knows sit, down, sit-stay, spin, come, touch (touch her nose to your hand), “leave it” and is currently working on shake and go to your place. She sits patiently and waits for you to release her to eat, knows to stay out of the kitchen, and also sits and waits for you to release her to walk out the door. She does not bolt outside when you open the door even when she knows you’re leaving and doesn’t want you to go. There aren’t enough good things we can say about this sweet girl, she is really special. She does take a few weeks to transition and feel comfortable in a new place with new people so her new owner should know that. She would do well with a dog friendly male dog that will put up with her playful puppy side.
